Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk melted butter with granulated and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Fold in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips if using and spread batter evenly in pan.
- Bake 22–28 minutes until center is set but slightly soft.
- Cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake and chill before slicing.
