White Garlic Pizza Sauce

Ingredients
  

White Sauce Base
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 0.25 cup heavy cream optional
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Italian seasoning

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  3. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
  5. Simmer until thickened, 3–5 minutes.
  6. Stir in cream, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and seasoning.
  7. Remove from heat and cool slightly before using.

Notes

Sauce thickens as it cools; thin with milk if needed.
