Traditional Greek Maroulosalata

A classic Greek lettuce salad made with fresh greens, dill, lemon, and olive oil for a light and refreshing dish.

Ingredients
  

Salad
  • 1 large romaine lettuce finely shredded
  • 3 tbsp fresh dill finely chopped
  • 3 green onions thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp sea salt or to taste
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper optional

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board

Method
 

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the lettuce.
  2. Finely shred the lettuce and place it in a large bowl.
  3. Add green onions and fresh dill to the bowl.
  4. Drizzle with lemon juice and olive oil.
  5. Season with salt and optional black pepper.
  6. Gently massage the salad with clean hands for 30–60 seconds.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning, then serve immediately.

Notes

Serve immediately for best texture. Add feta or capers if desired.
