Ingredients
  

Cheese
  • 12 sticks mozzarella cheese whole milk
Breading
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls

  • Deep pan or fryer

Method
 

  1. Pat mozzarella sticks dry and set aside.
  2. Set up breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumb mixture.
  3. Coat each stick in flour, egg, breadcrumbs, then repeat egg and breadcrumbs.
  4. Freeze breaded sticks for at least 60 minutes.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry sticks for 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Drain and serve immediately with marinara sauce.

Notes

Freezing is essential to prevent cheese from leaking during frying.
