Ingredients
  

Hibiscus Tea Base
  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 4 cups water for steeping
Strawberry Lemonade
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled
  • 0.75 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar or honey adjust to taste
  • 2 cups cold water
  • as needed ice cubes

  • Saucepan or kettle
  • Blender
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Large Pitcher

Method
 

  1. Bring water to a boil, remove from heat, and steep dried hibiscus flowers for 10 minutes.
  2. Strain hibiscus tea and allow it to cool completely.
  3. Blend strawberries until smooth; strain if desired.
  4. In a large pitcher, mix lemon juice and sugar until dissolved.
  5. Add cooled hibiscus tea, strawberry puree, and cold water; stir well.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed.
  7. Serve over ice and garnish with mint, lemon slices, or strawberries.

Notes

Adjust sweetness based on the ripeness of strawberries. Chill thoroughly before serving.
