Ingredients
  

Fudge Base
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.75 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt

  • Mixing spoon
  • 8x8-inch baking pan
  • Parchment paper

Method
 

  1. Line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Stir in sugar and cocoa powder until smooth.
  4. Slowly add evaporated milk, stirring constantly.
  5. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook until thick and glossy.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  7. Pour into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Cool, refrigerate until set, then slice into squares.

Notes

Do not overcook. Stir constantly for best texture.
