Ingredients
  

Onion Base
  • 4 large sweet onions sliced into rings
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter cubed
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Arrange sliced onions evenly in the baking dish.
  3. Season onions with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Scatter butter cubes evenly over the onions.
  5. Combine cheeses and sprinkle generously over onions.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake an additional 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Rest briefly before serving.

Notes

Use sweet onions for best flavor. Let rest before serving for cleaner slices.
