  • 4 sweet onions sliced into rings
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese shredded
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a baking dish.
  2. Spread sliced onions evenly in the dish.
  3. Drizzle melted butter over onions and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Top with shredded cheeses.
  5. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove foil and bake 15 more minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Let rest briefly before serving.

Notes

Best served hot. Use sweet onions for optimal flavor.
