Ingredients
  

Sandwich
  • 4 slices bread sourdough or country style
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 cups mushrooms sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Slice mushrooms evenly and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add mushrooms and cook until golden and tender. Stir in garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  5. Assemble sandwiches with cheese, mushrooms, and cheese between bread slices.
  6. Cook sandwiches in a skillet over medium-low heat until golden and melted, flipping once.

Notes

Cook mushrooms slowly for maximum flavor and avoid high heat when grilling the sandwich.
