Ingredients
  

Beef Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup carrots diced
  • 0.5 cup peas
Mashed Potato Topping
  • 2 lb potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 4 tbsp butter

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Pot for boiling potatoes
  • Baking dish
  • Potato masher

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil potatoes until tender, then mash with butter and milk.
  3. Cook onion in oil until soft, then add garlic and ginger.
  4. Brown ground beef and stir in curry powder and tomato paste.
  5. Add broth and carrots, simmer until thickened.
  6. Stir in peas and spread mixture into baking dish.
  7. Top with mashed potatoes and bake until golden.
