Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf baguette sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives chopped
  • 8 oz smoked salmon
  • 2 tbsp capers drained
  • to taste black pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil.
  2. Toast bread for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp. Cool completely.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, dill, and chives until smooth.
  4. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over toasted baguette slices.
  5. Top each crostini with folded smoked salmon.
  6. Garnish with capers and cracked black pepper. Serve immediately.

Notes

Assemble just before serving for best texture.
