Ingredients
  

Tuna Mixture
  • 2 cans tuna drained
  • 0.33 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 0.25 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 0.25 cup celery finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
Assembly
  • 8 slices bread
  • 8 slices cheese cheddar or Swiss
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter for brushing

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, onion, celery, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  3. Arrange bread slices on the baking sheet and brush with oil or butter.
  4. Flip bread, spread tuna mixture evenly, and top with cheese slices.
  5. Bake 10–12 minutes until cheese melts and bread is toasted.
  6. Broil 1–2 minutes for extra browning if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Best served immediately while cheese is hot and bubbly.
