  • 12 oz smoked sausage sliced
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice uncooked
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 cup bell peppers chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp salt or to taste
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté onion and bell peppers in the same skillet until softened.
  4. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  5. Stir in rice and toast lightly.
  6. Add spices and pour in chicken broth.
  7. Return sausage to skillet, cover, and simmer until rice is tender.
  8. Fluff rice, garnish, and serve warm.

Notes

Adjust seasoning and add vegetables or spice to taste.
