  • 12 oz fresh cranberries rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple finely chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.25 cup orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon optional
  • Pinch salt

Method
 

  1. Prepare cranberries and pineapple, zest the orange.
  2. Combine cranberries, pineapple, sugar, water, orange juice, zest, cinnamon, and salt in a medium saucepan.
  3. Heat over medium until mixture bubbles, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer 15–20 minutes until cranberries pop and sauce thickens.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness; add water if too thick.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly; sauce will thicken further.
  7. Serve warm or chilled; store in airtight container.

Notes

Optional garnishes: fresh cranberries, pineapple chunks, or mint leaves.
