Method
- Heat oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook onions and peppers until soft and lightly caramelized. Remove and set aside.
- Add steak to the skillet, season, and cook quickly until just browned.
- Return vegetables to the skillet and mix well.
- Top with cheese and let melt, then fold mixture together.
- Toast hoagie rolls lightly.
- Fill rolls with steak mixture and serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, slice steak very thin and cook over high heat.
