Ingredients
  

Chocolate Base
  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk one can
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Optional Mix-Ins
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional
  • 0.5 cup mini marshmallows optional
  • 0.25 cup chocolate or caramel drizzle optional
  • to taste sea salt flakes optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper and lightly grease.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir constantly until melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Fold in optional mix-ins if desired.
  5. Pour mixture into prepared pan, smooth top, drizzle chocolate/caramel if desired, sprinkle sea salt.
  6. Chill in refrigerator for 1–2 hours or freeze 30–45 minutes until firm.
  7. Lift fudge from pan using parchment overhang, cut into squares, serve.

Notes

Fudge keeps in airtight container up to 2 weeks. Can customize with nuts, marshmallows, or peppermint for holidays.
