Ingredients
  

Taco Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 0.5 cup onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
Assembly
  • 8 hard taco shells
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook ground beef with onion in olive oil until browned. Add taco seasoning and stir well.
  3. Stand taco shells upright in the baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle a small amount of cheese into each shell.
  5. Fill shells with seasoned beef mixture.
  6. Top generously with remaining cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 12–15 minutes until crispy and cheese is melted.
  8. Serve hot with desired toppings.

Notes

Do not overfill shells to keep them crispy.
