Ingredients
  

Blackberry Filling
  • 4 cups blackberries fresh or frozen
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Cobbler Topping
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold, cubed
  • 0.75 cup milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter a baking dish.
  2. Mix blackberries, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla. Spread into baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  4. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Stir in milk just until combined.
  6. Spoon topping over blackberry filling.
  7. Bake 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Best served warm with vanilla ice cream.
