Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Mix molasses, buttermilk, and melted butter in a separate bowl.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients gently until just mixed.
- Shape dough into a round loaf and score an X on top.
- Bake 35–40 minutes until crust is firm and loaf sounds hollow.
- Cool on wire rack before slicing.
Notes
For extra flavor, add chopped nuts or seeds. Do not overmix the dough.
