Ingredients
  

Eggs
  • 6 large eggs
Soy Marinade
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey optional
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 green onions sliced
  • 1 red chili sliced, optional
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

  • Mixing bowl

Method
 

  1. Bring water to a gentle boil in a saucepan.
  2. Carefully lower eggs into boiling water and cook 6–7 minutes.
  3. Transfer eggs immediately to ice bath and cool 5 minutes.
  4. Peel eggs carefully under running water.
  5. Mix soy sauce, water, sugar, honey, and sesame oil until dissolved.
  6. Add garlic, green onions, chili, and sesame seeds.
  7. Place eggs in container and pour marinade over to fully submerge.
  8. Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

Best served over steamed rice. Marinate overnight for deeper flavor.
