- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla.
- Mix in mashed bananas. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk.
- Pour batter into pan and smooth the top.
- Bake 35–40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Frost cooled cake, slice, and serve.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and moisture.
