Ingredients

Steak
  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks 8–10 oz each
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Creamy Garlic Sauce
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon juice optional

Equipment

  • Skillet (preferably cast iron)
  • Tongs
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Pat steaks dry and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Let rest 10 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Sear steaks 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove and rest 5 minutes.
  4. Lower heat to medium and melt butter in the same skillet.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour in beef broth and scrape browned bits, then add heavy cream, Dijon, and Worcestershire.
  7. Simmer 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens. Stir in parsley and optional lemon juice.
  8. Serve steak topped with creamy garlic sauce and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Rest steak after cooking to keep juices inside. Use a hot skillet for the best sear.
