Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking pan.
- Toss apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Set aside.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk until just combined.
- Fold half the apples into batter and spread into pan.
- Top with remaining apples and bake 40–45 minutes.
- Cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. Excellent with ice cream or custard.
