- Place cooled mashed potatoes in a mixing bowl.
- Add flour, butter, and salt, mixing gently until a soft dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and pat into a round about ¾-inch thick.
- Cut the round into four triangular farls.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly grease if needed.
- Cook each farl for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Serve warm with butter or traditional Irish breakfast sides.
Notes
Use floury potatoes for best texture. Avoid adding milk to mashed potatoes.
