How to Make Homemade Pasta (Without a Machine)

Ingredients
  

Pasta Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs large, room temperature
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil optional
  • 1-2 tbsp water as needed

  • Sharp knife
  • Clean work surface

Method
 

  1. Create a mound of flour on a clean surface and form a well in the center.
  2. Add eggs, salt, and olive oil into the well and slowly mix with a fork.
  3. Bring dough together with hands and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Wrap dough and let rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll dough thin with a rolling pin and cut into desired pasta shape.
  6. Cook in boiling salted water for 2–3 minutes and serve.

Notes

Adjust flour and water based on humidity. Dough should be smooth and elastic, not sticky.
