Ingredients
  

Egg Rolls
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 2 cups green cabbage shredded
  • 1 cup carrots shredded
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with water
  • 3 cups vegetable oil for frying

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Skillet
  • Deep frying pan or fryer
  • Wire rack

Method
 

  1. Cook ground pork in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked.
  2. Add garlic, ginger, cabbage, and carrots. Cook until slightly softened.
  3. Season with soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Let cool completely.
  4. Fill and roll egg roll wrappers, sealing edges with cornstarch slurry.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Drain on wire rack and serve hot.

Notes

Cool filling fully before wrapping for maximum crispiness.
