Hibiscus Tea Strawberry Lemonade Refresher

Ingredients
  

Refresher Base
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp dried hibiscus petals or 2 hibiscus tea bags
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 0.5 cup fresh lemon juice about 2–3 lemons
  • 0.33 cup honey or simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 1 cup cold water or sparkling water
Garnish
  • as needed ice cubes
  • as needed lemon slices
  • as needed strawberry slices
  • as needed mint leaves optional

Method
 

  1. Bring 2 cups water to a boil. Add hibiscus petals or tea bags and steep for 10 minutes.
  2. Strain the hibiscus tea into a bowl or pitcher and allow to cool slightly.
  3. Blend strawberries with 1/4 cup hibiscus tea until smooth.
  4. In a pitcher, combine strawberry puree, lemon juice, honey or simple syrup, and remaining hibiscus tea. Stir well.
  5. Add cold water or sparkling water. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Chill for 30 minutes.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices, strawberry slices, and mint leaves.

Notes

For a smoother drink, strain the strawberry puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds. Use sparkling water for a fizzy version.
