Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 lb sirloin steak cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1.5 lb baby potatoes halved
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary or 1 tbsp fresh
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking dish
  • Skillet
  • Knife

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a large baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  2. In a bowl, toss halved baby potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and rosemary. Spread evenly in the baking dish.
  3. Heat a skillet over high heat. Sear steak cubes for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Transfer steak to a plate.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and beef broth.
  5. Pour garlic butter sauce over potatoes, then place steak cubes on top. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove foil, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top, and bake uncovered for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and potatoes are tender.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For best results, sear steak first to lock in flavor. Allow potatoes to soak in garlic butter for 10 minutes before baking if possible.
