- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Beat butter until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar until fluffy.
- Add vanilla and salt, mixing until combined.
- Gradually add flour and mix just until dough forms.
- Fold in sprinkles gently.
- Roll dough, chill briefly, cut into rounds, and place on baking sheets.
- Bake 12–15 minutes until set. Cool completely.
- Prepare frosting by beating butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream.
- Sandwich cookies with frosting and serve.
Notes
Do not overbake to maintain tender shortbread texture.
