Ingredients
  

Sauce Base
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
Thickener
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Method
 

  1. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan.
  2. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves and mixture simmers.
  3. Whisk cornstarch and water in a small bowl until smooth.
  4. Slowly add cornstarch slurry to the sauce while stirring.
  5. Simmer 2–4 minutes until thick and glossy.
  6. Remove from heat and cool slightly before use.

Notes

Adjust sweetness or thickness to taste. Sauce thickens as it cools.
