Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Pour melted butter into the pan and sprinkle evenly with brown sugar.
- Arrange pineapple slices and cherries over the sugar layer.
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions, replacing water with pineapple juice.
- Pour batter gently over the fruit layer.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
Notes
Allow cake to rest before flipping for best release.
