Method
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Slice potatoes thinly and pat dry.
- Toss potatoes with olive oil, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Layer potatoes in dish, sprinkle cheese if using, brush top with butter.
- Cover with foil and bake 35 minutes. Remove foil and bake 25–30 more minutes until golden.
- Simmer balsamic vinegar and honey for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
- Drizzle glaze over torte, garnish with thyme, and serve warm.
Notes
Best served immediately for maximum crispiness. Leftovers can be reheated in oven to maintain texture.
