Ingredients
  

  • 20 oz cheese tortellini
  • 12 oz Italian sausage sliced or crumbled
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1.25 cups heavy cream
  • 0.75 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

  • Wooden spoon

Method
 

  1. Cook tortellini in salted boiling water; add broccoli during last few minutes. Drain and reserve pasta water.
  2. Brown sausage in olive oil in a large skillet. Remove excess grease if needed.
  3. Add butter and garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and simmer gently.
  5. Add Parmesan cheese and seasonings, stirring until smooth.
  6. Add tortellini and broccoli, tossing to coat. Adjust sauce with pasta water.
  7. Serve hot with extra Parmesan on top.

Notes

Adjust sauce thickness with reserved pasta water as needed.
