  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk whole or 2%
  • 1 cup dried chipped beef sliced
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly ground

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  3. Gradually add milk while whisking until smooth and thickened.

  5. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve hot over toasted bread.

Notes

Rinse chipped beef briefly if extra salty.
