Method
- Chop dried beef into bite-sized pieces. Rinse briefly if very salty.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in warm milk until smooth and thickened.
- Add chipped beef and black pepper. Simmer 3–5 minutes.
- Toast bread slices until golden.
- Serve creamed beef over toast immediately.
Notes
Rinse beef lightly to reduce salt if desired.
