Creamed Chipped Beef on Toast

Ingredients
  

Creamed Beef
  • 4 oz dried chipped beef
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups whole milk warm
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

  • 4 slices white bread toasted

Method
 

  1. Chop dried beef into bite-sized pieces. Rinse briefly if very salty.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute.
  4. Slowly whisk in warm milk until smooth and thickened.
  5. Add chipped beef and black pepper. Simmer 3–5 minutes.
  6. Toast bread slices until golden.
  7. Serve creamed beef over toast immediately.

Notes

Rinse beef lightly to reduce salt if desired.
