Ingredients
  

Milk Tea Base
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 bags black tea or loose leaf
  • 1 cup milk whole or dairy-free
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp honey or sugar to taste
  • 1 pinch salt optional
  • 1 pinch cinnamon optional garnish

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Kettle
  • Measuring cups
  • Whisk or milk frother

Method
 

  1. Bring water to a boil and steep black tea for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Heat milk gently in a saucepan until steaming but not boiling.
  3. Stir vanilla extract and sweetener into the warm milk.
  4. Remove tea bags or strain tea leaves from brewed tea.
  5. Combine brewed tea and vanilla milk in mugs.
  6. Stir gently, garnish if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Adjust sweetness and milk ratio to taste. Can be served iced.
