Ingredients
  

Apple Filling
  • 6 apples peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Mix sliced apples with lemon juice, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, cornstarch, and vanilla.
  3. Transfer apple mixture into baking dish evenly.
  4. Combine flour, oats, sugars, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  5. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle topping evenly over apples.
  7. Bake 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  8. Cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for best flavor and texture.
