Ingredients
  

Pretzel Dough
  • 3.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
Baking Soda Bath
  • 8 cups water
  • 0.5 cup baking soda
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast in warm water and sugar until foamy.
  2. Mix in butter, salt, and flour to form dough.
  3. Knead dough until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let dough rise 60 minutes until doubled.
  5. Shape into pretzels.
  6. Boil in baking soda bath 20–30 seconds.
  7. Bake at 425°F for 12–15 minutes.
  8. Brush with butter and coat in cinnamon sugar.

Notes

Best served warm. Can be frozen before coating.
