- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and shredded cheddar until smooth.
- Fold in diced jalapeños and optional cayenne pepper.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until soft dough forms.
- Roll dough to ½ inch thickness and cut into desired shapes.
- Optional: sprinkle extra cheddar or paprika on top.
- Bake 18–22 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on wire rack.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
