- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, then slowly add milk or cream.
- Season sauce and stir in half the cheese until smooth.
- Combine pasta, ham, peas, and sauce in a bowl.
- Transfer to baking dish, top with remaining cheese.
- Bake 18–22 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
Add breadcrumbs for crunch or extra vegetables for variation.
