- Brown ground beef in a large pot and drain excess fat.
- Melt butter in the same pot and sauté onion until soft. Add garlic.
- Stir in flour and cook briefly to form a roux.
- Slowly whisk in broth and bring to a simmer.

- Reduce heat and stir in milk, cream, beef, and cheese.
- Season to taste and serve hot.
