Ingredients
  

Bubble Tea Base
  • 0.5 cup tapioca pearls
  • 4 cups water for boiling pearls
  • 2 cups water for brewing tea
  • 2 bags black tea
  • 1 cup milk or dairy-free alternative
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar for pearls
  • 1-2 tbsp sweetener to taste

Equipment

  • Strainer
  • Measuring cups
  • Serving glasses

Method
 

  1. Boil water and cook tapioca pearls according to package instructions until chewy.
  2. Drain pearls and toss with brown sugar while warm. Set aside.
  3. Brew black tea in hot water for 5–7 minutes. Cool completely.
  4. Add pearls to serving glasses.
  5. Pour chilled tea over pearls, then add milk and sweetener.
  6. Stir well and serve with a wide straw.

Notes

Adjust sweetness and milk ratio to taste. Best enjoyed fresh.
