Method
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, broth, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook broccoli for 1–2 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Transfer to ice water. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef and sear until browned, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove beef and set aside.
- In the same pan, add garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return beef to pan with broccoli. Pour in sauce and stir constantly for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Transfer to serving dish, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve immediately.
Notes
Best served immediately with steamed rice or noodles. Adjust soy sauce to taste.
